Performer: Outspoken Bean
Hosted in the Arts and Cultural District, Juneteenth at the DeLuxe Theater of the Fifth Ward brought Houston community members together for an experience that involved awareness for social injustice and vaccine awareness. Performer Outspoken Bean shared a beautiful set of spoken word poems where the audience was inspired with words of empowerment, awareness, and deep emotion. The event featured a short documentary of the beauty that is the Fifth Ward. Influenced by its culture and history, the audience members were directly impacted. This event also featured a Jazz Trio who added a nuanced addition of audience participation.
