At "The Art of Awareness; A Community's Self-Portrait of Immunization Health," artists presented work that was inspired by their journey through the pandemic. The event featured Outspoken Bean and his students who spoke on controversial issues with racism, vaccine hesitancy, and unity.
Artists were encouraged to present visual representations about the impact of vaccines on people and their environments. The goal of the exhibit was to showcase and prompt a dialogue about the important role vaccines play as part of a person's overall health and the health of the community. Participating artists included Zahra Ali, Melissa Aytenfisu, Sena Gbordzoe. Jan Golden, Kevin Leija, Caroline Reeves, Alexi Sheets, Carolina Yanez, and Sabrina Zernial.
More than 80 people attended the events which were organized by the Immunization Partnership and directed by Ashley Beale.
